Something I am good at...

Day 2, Thursday: Educate us on something you know alot about or are good at. Take any approach you'd like (serious and educational or funny and sarcastic)

I am going to blog about 2 different things that I think I am good at...

First up is being Type A.  Along with working full-time and raising 3 kids, I am a Team Mom to my older sons football team and now my youngest sons baseball team. I also do whatever I can for my daughters dance/cheer.  I think that my personality makes me really good at doing this job! You have to organize fundraisers, contact parents, ask for and collect money, order team shirts and/or uniforms, plan the team party and order gifts. I am very organized and bossy. I have excel spreadsheets created for everything. I have binders of information that I use during the seasons. I am always busy doing something but I wouldn't have it any other way.

The second thing I think I excel at is COOKING!! I love to cook. I love to try new recipes. I love to feed my family and friends. I love coming up with weekly menus and grocery shopping. I love all kinds of different kitchen gadgets. And most importantly, I love to eat! I think I get my love of cooking from my grandma. We never see her without her apron on! She is a really good cook.

I couldn't find an apron pic...darnit!

Story of My Life

It's been awhile since I blogged but thanks to Miss Jenni (over at Story of My Life) I decided to start blogging again...well at least in May!

Here is her prompt for Day 1, Wednesday: The story of your life in 250 words or less (or one paragraph... no one will be counting your words... probably)

I was born on April 20, 1982 in Oklahoma City to Pam & Wayne. I was their first child (and favorite!) but about 19 months later I received a little sister, Ami. You can definitely tell I am the older sister! I am your typical Type A, OCD, bossy, controlling girl!! Always have been and probably always will be. We lived in Oklahoma City until I started the first grade. At that time my parents became separated and we (mom, sister, and I) followed my grandparents to Tulsa.  We lived in Tulsa from the time I was in 1st - 4th grade and sometime during 1st grade my dad moved up here and we became a family of 4 again. We moved into a rental house in Broken Arrow and I began the 5th grade in a new school. But I am so thankful that we moved to BA and that I now call this my home! I had a great life growing up but I had a lot of freedom. A little too much freedom when looking back. My parents were (and still are) great parents but they are kind of hippy-ish. I began doing dumb things during high school and ended up pregnant at 16.  And to be honest I think that is where my life story really began, the day I became a MOM (19 days shy of my 17th birthday)! It is something I always wanted to be. Yes, I may have started early but I wouldn't change it for anything. I am a mother to 3 kids, Emilee 14, Zackary 12, and Colton 3. My kids are my life!

Thanks Jenni for starting this challenge.
